Since 1993, BioSpan’s team of scientists and engineers have developed inventive solutions for the world’s toughest industries. Our FDA- and EPA-licensed manufacturing plant in Missouri, USA includes four research and development laboratories.
There, we concentrate on creating new products used for pavement preservation and environmental recovery and reuse of solid waste.
As the number of patents on our products grows, we believe that our research-based approach – from the laboratory to the manufacturing plant to the real world – makes our solutions effective and affordable. Sheldon Chesky
Founder, President and CEO
Sheldon Chesky has been the CEO of BioSpan Technologies, Inc. since 1993, driving the company's mission to develop sustainable biotechnological solutions. With over 50 years of experience in the biotech and chemical manufacturing sectors, Sheldon is dedicated to innovation and environmental stewardship. He holds a Master’s in Business from Lindenwood University and Master’s in Biochemistry and Microbiology, and is known for his innovative product development using organic chemistry.Under his guidance, BioSpan continues to lead the industry in creating eco-friendly solutions for a better world. Its flagship product, RePlay, a patented soybean-based alternative to petroleum-based pavement sealants and rejuvenators, has been applied to more than 3 million lane-miles. This is equivalent to all roads, big and small, across the states of the Southeastern Conference.
Lindsey Hermes
President and COO
Lindsey Hermes brings a wealth of global experience from a career spanning four continents and multiple industries. A St. Louis native who spent 16 years in Hong Kong where she collaborated with major brands and retailers to transform supply chains and promote the circular economy through digital solutions across sectors like chemicals, apparel, beauty, food, logistics, automotive, and pharmaceuticals. Today, she leads BioSpan's efforts in developing sustainable, cutting-edge material sciences at scale.
Lindsey is a recognized speaker at international conferences such as CES and GreenBiz Circularity. She advises startups and leads community organizations focused on sustainability worldwide. An alumna of Washington University in St. Louis and currently pursuing a master’s in Sustainability with Harvard, Lindsey embodies the spirit of innovation and is dedicated to driving positive change globally – something she learned growing up from her father, Sheldon.
